Sun Peaks is home to British Columbia’s highest elevation golf course. Surrounded by mountains on three sides this 18-hole, 6,400 yard, Graham Cooke designed par 72 course tests and satisfies golfers of all abilities. Offering natural beauty, fresh mountain air and spectacular views, the course is set 1,200 metres above sea level so your balls fly farther and the temperature is often cooler than in the valley below.
Hike through brilliantly coloured alpine meadows of wildflowers after being whisked up the Sunburst Chairlift or begin right from the heart of the village. With 18 hiking trails available to explore, a new adventure is literally at your doorstep each day.
Explore our lift-accessed downhill bike park with over 65 km of trails, including a dirt jump park and 2,000 feet of vertical catering to all ages and abilities, extended to nearly 2,500 feet when combined with the Altitude cross country trail into the alpine of Mt Tod.
At Sun Peaks there is always something to do. Choose one or do them all – nordic pole walking, horseback riding or tennis. Or trade dry land for water and try stand-up paddle boarding, rent a canoe/kayak or try world class fly fishing in one of our nearby lakes. It’s all possible here in ‘Canada’s Alpine Village’.
With weekly festivals and special events from July to September, including outdoor concerts, a weekly farmers market, a village stroll of shops and cafes, Sun Peaks is the perfect place to do it all, or nothing at all, where it is cooler under the sun.
Renowned for its sunshine and light, dry champagne powder, Sun Peaks provides a wide variety of trails for all ability levels. Enjoy all 3 mountains with two alpine bowls, green, blue and black runs and glade areas, and conveniently return to the charming alpine village at the centre base.
Green level skiers can ride to the top of Crystal Lift, enjoy the view and ski all the way down on ‘Five Mile’ run. Intermediate and expert level skiers and boarders can find exactly what they are searching for… long cruisers, bumps, steeps and bowls. For budding park enthusiasts Sun Peaks offers a well developed terrain park with over 10 acres and 3 distinct zones for beginner, intermediate and expert and over 45 fine-tuned features.
